Edible bugs!

This is so sticking cute I have to share some pictures. We have been learning about insects and how many body parts they have and legs. So Friday as a reward we made edible bugs. I gave them 2 marshmellows (one for the thorax, and one for the abdomen), a candy orange slice (for the head); 6 pretzel sticks for the legs; 2 twizzlers for antennas, and 1 chocolate morsel for a eye.
Here are a couple pictures of how it worked!

Completion Program

Do any of you have to do a completion program for Kinder? We do and we finally figured out what we are going to do.
We are going to put together a slide show of pictures from the whole year with all of our classes and that will be running in the background. Then we are going to have our kids onstage and have them sing the "dah, dah, dah dah; (snap, snap)   dah, dah, dah, dah (snap, snap);  We learned our ABC's and counting 1 2 3's and now we now all these. The Kindergarten class! (It is to the melody of the monsters). It goes on and on. Then we are going to read a poem as a class for the letters in the word KINDERGARTEN!
We will then give out completion certificates to each kid, serve punch and cookies.

That's it! We would like to do more, but who has time. We have mclass (state math class that takes about 10 minutes per child); DRA (state reading test, this can take 30 minutes to a hour); and report card testing. That's not to mention all the end of the year paperwork and getting ready for incoming Kinder next year.

Any suggestions or ideas that have worked for you?
